With reference to the letter Parking tariffs and attendants (TMID, 9 July), the Malta Transport Authority wishes to point out that officials from the ADT’s Traffic Management Directorate continuously check and monitor the performance of all car park attendants to ensure that they adhere to the related legislation as outlined in the Motor Vehicle Regulations Paragraph 65.

In this respect, wherever a breach of this legislation is registered by TMD officials, this is reported directly to the respective police district for the necessary action as outlined by law.

The legislation outlined above clearly specifies the terms of conduct and performance of car park attendants on which the licence is based.

If a car park attendant is found guilty of breaching this legislation, the ADT may suspend, withdraw or not renew his licence.
