Waterpolo: Cain Pavia Trophy

Malta Independent Tuesday, 2 August 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

For the third consecutive summer, with the help of all his fiends and the kind co-operation of the Sliema Aquatic Sports Club, Edwin Junior Pisani will be organizing a waterpolo match at the Sliema Waterpolo Club to honour and commemorate former Sliema player Cain Pavia. Cain died at the young age of 24 in February 2000 and Maltese waterpolo lost a promising player indeed.

This match, will be played tomorrow at 8:15pm. One team will be made up of players who played with Cain with St Julian’s, Ta Xbiex and Exiles and the other team will be a selection of under sixteen and under eighteen players who won the league with him with the Sliema team.

After the match Cain’s friends are organizing a pasta night where Mr. and Mrs. George Pavia will present the Cain Pavia Trophy to the winners. All his friends, team mates and whoever knew him are invited to join in this occasion.
