I remember the vilification of British Conservative MP Enoch Powell when he tried to warn against the danger of uncontrolled immigration from Asia and elsewhere.

In his “river of blood” speech, he unerringly predicted the consequence and danger of the rapid mixing of cultures and religions.

He was hounded out of office, and accused of inciting racial hatred.

One memorable quotation, regarding the reckless granting of British citizenship was, “if a kitten is born in a kipper box, will it make the kitten a kipper?”

The recent events witnessed in London over the past weeks, in my opinion, amply vindicated Enoch Powell`s prediction.

One of the major suspects of the London bombings is an Ethiopian, who entered Britain as a refugee and was granted British citizenship. He showed his gratitude to the country that adopted him and saved him from the squalor of his mother country, by planting bombs with the intention to kill innocent people indiscriminately.

The other is a Somali who, like the Ethiopian, entered Britain as a refugee, was granted British citizenship, which means being housed and given all social benefits, paid for by the indigenous population. Like the Ethiopian, he showed his gratitude to his adopted country by planting bombs in London.

Will the JRS, Home Affairs Minister, and the assorted do-gooders who scream racism whenever one tries to express his preoccupation at what is happening here, take responsibility when we find out that the nice people from Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and so forth, also turn out to be terrorists?

Throughout history, European blood was spilled in the pursuit of freedom from tyranny. Why are these African and Asian people, so meek and incapable of fighting the sleaze and tyranny in their own countries, just like Europeans had to do to rid themselves of the iniquitous, mediaeval feudalism. Feudalism was entrenched, propped and supported by the holy inquisition.

The licentious fornicator Pope Innocent VIII, whose two known illegitimate offspring were Franceschetto and Teodorina, was the author of the Malleus Maleficarum, (The witches hammer), which burnt millions of women at the stake.

Instead of fighting to liberalise their respective countries from home-grown despots, they prefer to saddle some other country with their problems.

While the front against golf courses, headed as always by the “no to everything” Alternattiva Demokratika, express their concern about the introduction of alien grasses to our virgin countryside, they fail to notice the exploitation of our daughters by these uninvited visitors to our island, who seek to get them pregnant as soon as possible, marry them under their terms at the Paola mosque, and hey-presto their problems are then solved with the issue of Maltese citizenship.

I heard of two heart-breaking similar incidents of this nature within five days. I cannot elaborate for fear of identifying the people concerned.

Unless we recognise the grave danger we are courting thanks to our folly, pampering and falling over ourselves to give these intruders all they want, thinking that we can convert them to Catholicism and our way of life, we are likely to find, just as Britain is finding out, the truism of Rudyard Kipling`s ballad, “East is East, and West is West, and ne’er the twain shall meet.”
