A Bad summer experience

Malta Independent Saturday, 13 August 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Some days ago I, together with a group of friends, decided to go and spend a day by the pool in a recently refurbished hotel in the north of the island. Sorry to say we were really disappointed. We paid the fee of Lm3 for adults and Lm2 for children for beach beds and umbrellas, most of which were small and did not cover all the beach beds. The bar next to the pool served only drinks – no tea or coffee, and when we ordered tea from the restaurant bar, they said they lacked teapots.

The tables were dirty and we had to clean ours with paper napkins.

The plates were not clean and water was still running through them. The barbeque consisted of a small piece of swordfish or hamburger or sausage with some salad and a hard potato in its jacket to complement. This for the price of Lm2.25. But the worst came in the late afternoon. I and two other friends got sick for the next two days due to the bad food. A very bad experience which made us decide not to go to that hotel again, or recommend it to others.
