They all know what they want to achieve at the end of the film!
Let’s use Thinking Skills to see how we can promote more courage in our lives.
Name of the thinking tool for this week:
AIMS Goals Objectives (AGO)
What is an AGO?
You can do something just because everyone else is doing it or to react to a situation. When this happens you do something ‘because’ …..
At other times you do something ‘in order to’ achieve something. Here you set an objective – why you are doing this thing.
The AGO can help you find exactly what you are trying to achieve.
In the symbol for AGO, the circle is the objective. It is clear and you know what you want to achieve. The meaning for the words Aims, Goals, Objectives is the same when using this tool!
Why use AGO.?
If you know exactly what your objectives are, it is easier to achieve them!
In the same situation people may have different objectives,
Objectives should be possible enough for a person to really try and reach them.
Let’s work an example together
This year you are attending summer school for the first time! You are not sure about it and don’t really want to go. Do an AGO to try and bring some positive objectives for this situation.
AGO
I want to make new friends
I want to learn new crafts
Your list for an AGO does not have to be very long.
Remember your Aims Goals Objectives (AGO) must be:
Clear, Possible to achieve
Not too many to start off with (otherwise you don’t know where to start!!)
So what do you think? With some thinking we came up exactly the objectives of this
Now try another exercise. Do an AGO on Starting Drama Lessons in Winter. What can your objectives be in this situation?
Happy Thinking.
