A 22-year-old was yesterday arrested by the police Mobile Squad after he was found to be in possession of over 1,100 ecstasy pills, cocaine and cannabis.
A police report said police officers followed him when coming across his suspicious movements during a routine patrol.
The man was first spotted in Attard early yesterday morning and police noted that people were approaching two stationary vehicles. They immediately suspected that something was amiss and when they approached, the two vehicles took off.
The police followed the car and eventually a suspect abandoned it. However he was soon apprehended.
Police searched the vehicle and found over 1,100 ecstasy pills, five grammes of cocaine and some cannabis resin as well as fake money and some jewellery, the police added.
Duty magistrate Anthony Vella appointed a number of experts to assist in an inquiry.
