Good Remuneration for good work

Malta Independent Sunday, 28 August 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

I have been reading the correspondence pages of one of the local newspapers with some interest. I needed a heart bypass operation in 2004 and was operated on by Mr Walter Busuttil assisted by a team of surgeons, anesthetists, doctors, nurses and paramedics. I feel obliged to write and show my appreciation for the care and dedication with which I was cared for before, during and after surgery.

I was operated on a Saturday afternoon outside normal hospital working hours. Mr Busuttil and the other doctors were available on call 24 hours a day. Mr Busuttil came to see me on Sunday and on every day during my recovery.

I am pleased to say that the care I received was excellent service.

There are many people who were just as well looked after at St Luke’s Hospital. I am sure that every one of these patients would like their doctor to have adequate remuneration for the good work they do.
