A former warden and his son yesterday were accused of assaulting and injuring a warden last Monday at around 5.30pm in Gzira.
Martin Delia, 48, who now has another job and his son Wayne, both living in Paola, were charged with assaulting, threatening and slightly injuring warden Patrick Paul Attard at around 5.30pm in Gzira on 29 August 2005. They allegedly caused almost Lm500 worth of damage to the detriment of the Guard and Warden Service House Ltd and Patrick Paul Attard.
According to prosecuting inspector Stephen Gatt the warden was at the scene of an accident when the two accused stopped and beat him up. The men pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on bail against a Lm1,000 personal guarantee. They were also ordered to pay a Lm100 deposit.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera presided over the court while inspector Stephen Gatt prosecuted.
