It is said that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. This is a picture of the current mayor of Kingston upon Thames, which I think will demolish Daphne`s twisted opinion of the British.

I would like to add it to my letter “A few raisons short of a fruitcake”, (TMIS, 21 August) written in reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia opinion piece of 14 August.

I think you will agree that he is a shade darker than Daphne or her friend, yet he had no difficulty being elected leader of the council of a white dominated upper class town in a Royal borough.
