The new squash season gets under way tomorrow at the Malta Union Club.

For the first time, several players from the Uks prestigious London club the HAC - Honourable Artillery Company Squash Club - will also be taking part.

The players from HAC are visiting Malta for a short break and have decided to take the opportunity to compete in the Union Club competition as well as a friendly match at the Marsa Sports Club.

The ladies National team are once again taking part in both events as part of their preparation for this years European Small Nations Squash Tournament, to be held at the end of October in Cyprus, should the required funding is forthcoming.

Malta Squash Secretary Liz Said is still hopeful that a sponsor can still be found in time to enable both the ladies and men’s team to take part in Cyprus.
