The Senglea Athletic committee has deplored the behaviour of some of their fans during the match against Naxxar Lions last Sunday.

In a short statement issued yesterday, it also deplored the attitude of these fans with regard to committee members who have been working hard in the interests of the club and who certainly never wished to see the team losing that match.

In the statement, the committee appealed for such behaviour not to be repeated in the forthcoming matches and urged everyone to work hard in the interests of Senglea Athletic FC. It added that such a situation embarrassed the Senglea club and should be avoided.

The committee also apologised to all those who might have felt insulted or frustrated with what happened on the terraces during the match.

The day before, club secretary Daniel Genovese had tendered his resignation because of the same reasons.
