CareMalta Featured in the US

Malta Independent Thursday, 22 September 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The work of CareMalta, which runs homes for the elderly, has recently been featured in Future Age – a bi-monthly publication of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing, based in Washington, District of Columbia.

The feature on CareMalta gave a history of the Group’s activities since the commencement of operations 12 years ago and it went on to describe how the CareMalta Group today operates four care facilities, two in the private sector and two in the public sector owned by government and operated under a public-private partnership scheme, while looking after over 550 residents and employing just under 400 trained staff members.

The article also focused on how the Group is now concentrating on two strategic initiatives, that of dealing with the wellness of residents and the monitoring and assessment of service quality. “We are extremely proud that our services have been chosen to feature in such a leading American publication on elderly care. In fact we have received very good feedback as a result of this article from American organisations wanting to learn more about us,” said CareMalta chief executive, Ing. Alexander Tranter.

The American Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing serves two million people every day, through mission driven not-for-profit organisations dedicated to providing services to people in need.
