Maltese professional player Alex Borg was eliminated yesterday from the Grand Prix competition being held at the Guild Hall, Preston England.

Facing Gerard Greene in the first qualifying round of the tournament, Alex Borg found the going hard and was beaten five frames against one.

On Tuesday, the other Maltese player taking part, Tony Drago had a good start beating wild card entry Steve James 5-2, to reach the last 64. He will now face Barry Hawkins.

Gerard Greene in the last 64 will now meet Stephen Lee.
