The Malta Olympic Committee with its objective of bettering the standards in Maltese sport is not only focusing on its athletes but is also targeting its local affiliated members and local companies.
Not only are athletes and associations expected to improve their level of professionalism but this also applies to the Malta Olympic Committee. Accordingly the MOC President Mr. Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco announced that in order to help associations and commercial companies to have a better understanding of what the MOC does, it has compiled a MOC Handbook which details the roles and functions of the MOC.
This handbook details the MOC statute and regulations, highlights its commissions, standing orders, and contracts.
It also details a number of programmes including the Elite and Aspirant athlete programmes and details the organising of a number specific activities including anti-doping, Hall of Fame, Sports Awards, Olympic Day Run and its own website. "With this handbook we hope to give a clearer picture of the role and function of the MOC" said Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco.
