The third book issued under the Fond ghall-Kittieba tal-Malti has been launched by APS Bank.
The book, Ghana ‘l Hena, is the work of Dr Michael Zammit, PhD, and consists of one poem made up of 35 cycles. It finds its roots in an ancient philosophical tradition that spans the striving after wisdom, and the love of it, by both west and east.
Dr Zammit teaches philosophy at the University of Malta and has written other works, including translations.
The Fond ghall-Kittieba tal-Malti, set up in collaboration with l-Akkademja tal-Malti, aims at providing financial assistance to Maltese authors who intend publishing literary works in Maltese.
The first two publications issued under the fund were Requiem ghal Siehbi Faxxista jew l-Interrogazzjoni, originally written in English by the late Francis Ebejer and translated into Maltese by Dr Charles Briffa, and Bagalja Holm, written by Mr Vincent Vella. The latter consists of two plays, namely Hal Tmiem and Agave Adagjo.
