I was very pleased to read Dr Tatiane Cassar’s letter entitled ‘The Children’s Advocate – The Children’s Voice’ (TMIS, 9 October).

It went a long way in giving the needed exposure to this new service offered by the Family Court, which I had mentioned in my interview to the Malta Independent 29 August of this year.

Since Dr Cassar wrote her article, the number of children advocates has gone down to two. Howeve,r they are both doing their best to bring the voice of the child to the forefront in court cases.

I now look forward to their being offered specific training in this field, and to learn that they are being provided with all the logistical support they need.
