During a talk addressed by Dr Alfred Sant at Zejtun Labour Party Club, the man who would be prime minister announced to his audience that in just 365 days, Lm10 million was spent by the Nationalists on parties given at random, mobile phones, cars and journeys abroad. Er… excuse me, Dr Sant, but I beg to differ. The Nationalists did not pay one cent out of their own money. It is us, the people, who are paying for these “perks” out of our very own taxes.

Much as we all despise this, that’s the way it is, though not the way it should be.
