Fund Raising activity by David Cluett Foundation

Malta Independent Saturday, 5 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

A fund raising activity was organised by the Friends of the David Cluett Foundation last Friday at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl tat-Targa, under the auspices of the Transplant Support Group and Life Cycle.

The Foundation was primarily set up to help David’s recovery and rehabilitation and to hopefully cover any medical expenses that might have been incurred had he needed.

Unfortunately David has passed away but his legacy and memory will live on. His generous contribution of all his vital organs, namely, pancreas, lungs, liver, kidneys and heart, to four persons, who are now living a much better life, has given the Foundation a different aim.

Organ donation is essential. It helps people live a better life. The Foundation Trustees have unanimously decided to help create a stronger awareness through David’s memory and with these functions they hope to get more people aware of how important and vital organ donation can be when such occasions arise, such as the one David went through in his last four months. David has given them a mission to help people in need.

The Friends of David Cluett Foundation is now an Organ Donor Awareness group, who, with the Transplant Support Group and Life Cycle, will work hand-in-hand to create a stronger awareness on this very important subject.

It was for this main primary purpose that this event took place.
