A total of 7,000 piggy banks have been distributed over the past few days in around 2,800 classes in all schools in Malta and Gozo as part of the BOV Istrina campaign 2005.

The Piggy Bank Campaign, which is supported by Bank of Valletta, involves some 65,000 students in a national demonstration of solidarity with the aim of raising funds for charity.

The 7,000 piggy banks have been donated by Bank of Valletta in aid of the Istrina campaign.

Bank of Valletta has also pledged to top up the funds collected from the piggy banks campaign by a further Lm10,000.
