While following the budget debate – not only the speeches given by the Prime Minister and opposition leader – I cannot help but realise that the two major political parties are more inclined to criticise each other than to work for the country.

The Nationalist speakers continue to bring up the past years under the Labour government while the Labour spokesmen seem to criticise just for the sake of doing it without offering solutions.

It would perhaps be more appreciated if the government representatives spell out what they intend to do to take the country forward rather than dwell on the past.

It would also be more appreciated if the opposition representatives offer some form of constructive criticism.
