Pottery Day for Nesquik Club

Malta Independent Thursday, 17 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Over 400 Nesquik Club members aged four to 10, recently enjoyed a delightful and novel activity during an educational pottery day. The event, held at one of Malta's leading pottery manufacturers, Bristow Potteries, turned out to be great fun for all the children who participated on the day.

One of the pottery artists launched the day off with a short but interesting introduction to the history of Maltese ceramics and art. Following this the children enjoyed a hands-on session where they were shown how to model clay with the raw material provided.

The children could then take their very own creations with them home.

When the pottery session was over, the children, accompanied by Quicky, the Nesquik Bunny enjoyed a healthy break at the Nesquik Bar where they snacked on their favorite Nesquik drink and cereal bar.

The aim of this educational event was to help the young generation to grow up knowing more about our heritage and the art and traditions of our country ensuring that these crafts remain part of the rich and varied Maltese culture.

Nestlé Malta Ltd established the popular Nesquik Club in 2001 for children between four and 10 years of age, and to date has provided a variety of exciting and innovative activities for its 1500 members. Anyone wishing to join the Nesquik Club can call on Freephone 8007-2209 for more details.
