Table-Tennis: Banks ROL Remain atop standings

Malta Independent Thursday, 24 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

In division 1 Banks ROL remain top with another fine 8-1 win but the Batman ‘A’ Gymstars team kept up the pressure by beating Keramit by 9 sets to 0.

The big match in division one this week though was the encounter between Cavendish and Valletta TTC. These two teams are both fighting for survival in the division and the 5 sets to 4 win achieved by Cavendish could mean a return to division 2 for the Valletta TTC team. Man of the match was Tony Vella Laurenti who was unbeaten on the night.

Things are still very tight in Division 2 and it is anybody’s guess at this stage who will gain promotion and which team will be relegated. Leisure Clothing though notched up a convincing 9 sets to 0 win against Malta University.

Div 1: Melita Wilkinson Sword 1- Bank ROL 8; Valletta TTC 4-Cavendish 5; G-Star 8-Mosta Gunners 1; Batman ‘A’ Gymstars 9-Keramit 9
