Good Work

Malta Independent Tuesday, 29 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 22 years ago

A lot of words have been written about the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting that was hosted by Malta last weekend.

Few have however been spared to congratulate the local authorities, in particular the task force that organised the event, as well as the policemen and soldiers who must have had a tough time indeed and yet passed the test with flying colours.

We should be proud of them. They had a very difficult time, long hours of work, and the pressure of taking care of the security of so many important people.

Many times we tend to forget, or worse ignore, their fruitful contribution in such events.

The Queen’s visit and the CHOGM passed without a hitch and this is largely thanks to the excellent way in which they were managed.
