The MOC will announce the winners of the Sports Awards for 2005 this evening during a Gala night at the Dolmen Hotel in Bugibba.

The following are those nominated for these awards:

Athletics: 4x100m Relay Team (Jeandre Mallia, Rashid Chouhal, Mario Bonello, Darren Gilford)

Athletics: 4x400m Relay Team (Ivan Borg, Mario Bonello, Karl Farrugia, Nicolai Portelli)

Athletics: 4x100m Relay Team (Charlene Attard, Diane Borg, Therese Mallia, Lara Scerri)

Individuals: Charlene Attard, Lisa Bezzina, Mario Bonello, Rebecca Camilleri, Rashid Chouhal, Darren Gilford, Nicolai Portelli, Carol Walsh, Martina Xuereb

Cycling: Roderick Muscat

Judo: Marcon Bezzina

Shooting: William Chetcuti , Emmanuel Grima, Frans Pace

Snooker Team (Alex Borg, Joe Grech, Simon Zammit) and individual Alex Borg

Squash (women's national team) Annabelle Olivieri Munro, Johanna Rizzo, Sue Aquilina, Roberta Pace Grima and Liz Said.

Swimming: Angela Galea

Table-Football: Massimo Cremona

Also during this evening's ceremony between eight and 10 persons will be inducted into the MOC's Hall of Fame.

The aim of the Hall of Fame is to reward those athletes, officials, administrators and journalists who worked hard to foster the Olympic ideals.

The event is being screened on Channel Education 22 from 10pm onwards.
