At the end of such an eventful year, I would like to express my congratulations to all those people involved in so many cultural activities that have been held in 2005.

Malta has great talents, many more than the regular faces that are seen on our television stations. In fact, I believe that there are dancers, actors and artists who never make it to the TV screen and yet are much, much better prepared.

I encourage them to keep up the good work and undertake all the necessary training they can receive to improve their talents.

I must also urge the media to give them the attention that they deserve. Too often we tend to concentrate more on what is happening abroad rather than what is going on in Malta. This year we had wonderful cultural activities and I hope that it will be the same next year.
