Malta lost its third encounter against UK opposition this week this time against a sprightly Welsh side who are undergoing a training camp in Malta in preparation for the UEFA Under-17 finals in May.
Joe Grech's young side showed considerable improvement from the double encounter against the Scots with plenty of possession but could not contain their Welsh opponents who were always dangerous in their breakaways.
Wales scored twice in each half first through Hewitt in the 35th minute and another goal after the interval from Lancey from a corner (73rd minute).
