Air Malta is indeed facing hard times. On Thursday, 29 December 2005, en route from Malta to Tripoli (Flight AMC696), apart from a choice of soft drinks/fruit juices, our snack consisted of one bag of cheese crackers, handed to us straight out of the cardboard box. On the New Year’s Day return flight, AMC697, passengers were given nothing to eat at all.
Admittedly, the flight is only 45 minutes long, but is too much to ask for a sandwich or bread roll? After all, excluding tax, the return Economy (hardly!) air fare cost me Lm80.
