The postponed ITT Qormi Wurth to Dingli eventually took place yesterday when while there were only slight showers, wind gusts were expected to reach 31 mph.
Still Jack Schiavone, an ITT specialist, managed an exceptional time when he covered the 12km always rising course in a remarkable time of 18 minutes 22 seconds.
The race was organized by Qormi-Wurth collaborating with Dingli Local Council whose vice-mayor, Joe M. Abela, an ex-cyclist, served also as timekeeper.
The next race will be held on the Zurrieq Circuit next Sunday when the cyclists will muster at 7am.
The race will be organised by Libertas CC. It will be a Mass Start race and will be open to over 50 cyclists of six categories who have registered with the federation for the year 2006.
