Crackers:

Malta Independent Thursday, 26 January 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

This issue of Crackers brings you an interesting article about the Chinese New Year. If you thought that all new years start on 1 January you were mistaken because the Chinese New Year does not have a fixed date like ours but changes from year to year. Moreover besides having a different date each year, the year is always dedicated to a particular animal. There are 12 animal names so year names are re-cycled every 12 years. Read the article to find out what animal will represent 2006.

I hope that you will participate in our new competition brought to you by Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija and The Malta Independent. It is a very interesting competition, which will decide the mascot that will represent the animals at the LWS Animal Park.

Do not forget every month we will be publishing your letters/drawings so if you have anything to share with us we would love to hear from you and do not forget the star letter or drawing will win a fantastic book prize.

See you next Thursday

Frances
