Tony Drago was eliminated from the Wesh Open snooker championship when he was beaten by Scott Mackenzie 5-3.
Drago was losing 4-1, and effected a good rally winning the sixth and seventh frames to make the score 4-3.
However Mackenzie kept his cool to win the eighth frame and the match. Mackenzie reached the third qualifying round of last season’s Embassy World Championship.
Mackenzie’s best performance in a ranking event came at the 2004 Daily Record Players Championship. He won four matches to qualify for the final stages of the event, culminating in a 5-3 defeat of James Wattana, before losing 5-1 to Marco Fu in the first round proper at the SECC in Glasgow.
