Etienne Barbara is the winner of the BOV Player of the Month award for January 2006.

The Birkirkara forward won this award on the back of his consistently good displays last month which helped his team take pole position in the race for the BOV Premier League title.

This player's agility and speed on the ball are complemented by his goal-scoring ability. After a quiet start to the season these qualities surfaced in the past weeks and this coincided with Birkirkara's steady resurgence in the championship matches.

Barbara's dexterity is mostly evident on either flank, with his delicate footwork and body feints more often than not throwing his opponents off balance.

If the player maintains this current form his team should be a good bet to carry off the 2005-2006 championship title.
