Celebrity British TV chef, Ainsley Harriott, star of the BBC programme Ready, Steady Cook, will be the guest attraction at the Mediterranean Food Festival, being organised by the Ministry for Tourism and Culture in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority and the Eden Leisure Group at the Eden Ice Arena, St Julian’s from the 2-5 and 10-12 March. Harriott, renowned for his flamboyant, madcap programme presentation, as well as for his unsurpassed culinary skills, will be presenting two celebrity cooking shows during the Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 March.
The evening shows being held at the Intercontinental Hotel will include Maltese personalities Hector Bruno, Ray Calleja, Miriam Dalli and Claire Agius. Ainsley Harriott will also be judging the amateur cooking competition Il-Kcina tan-Nanna, focussing on traditional Maltese dishes. Finally on Sunday, 12 March, Harriott will be signing copies of his cookery books at the festival premises.
Entrance to the festival is Lm1 for adults, children 3-12 years 50c, while entrance for the show is Lm5.
