A new, innovative weight-loss reality programme for men and women starts on TVM this March with the aim of providing information to contestants and the public on how to develop a healthy lifestyle and improve eating habits. The winner of this show earns up to Lm17,000 worth of prizes.
The programme, called Kilo, also marks the return of presenter Antonella Vassallo on TVM.
Overweight people who want to take part in this reality show are invited to send their name, surname and weight via SMS to 7990 9866. Auditions for Kilo will take place at the Myoka Golden Sands Spa in Ghajn Tuffieha on Saturday 18 February between 1 and 5pm.
Antonella Vassallo said Kilo’s objective is to bring together 12 male and female overweight participants who want to lose a significant amount of weight and feel better about themselves.
“The participants will live together for a number of weeks under the same roof in a local five-star hotel, and will be guided on how to lose weight, eat better and tone up their bodies,” said Ms Vassallo.
Guiding the participants will be a team of experts including slimming expert Marion Mizzi, a gym instructor, a beauty therapist, a chef, a nutritionist and a medical doctor. Each member of this team will help participants in their quest to win this contest. All participants will take part in a number of challenges aimed at proving their worth and their will power, including sport activities, long walks and other challenges.
In total, the winner of Kilo will win up to Lm17,000 worth of prizes, which amounts to Lm1,000 per programme over 17 weeks. Every Saturday, Antonella Vassallo together with her guests will check the progress of each participant, who in turn will be weighed to monitor the amount of weight-loss every week.
Each participant will be given a number of points by the team of experts and by the public via televoting. Moreover, the overweight participants themselves will have a say on who is progressing better than others in their quest to lose weight.
Following the four-week live-in, a participant will be eliminated every week on the basis of the votes assigned by the experts, the public and the participants themselves.
Viewers are encouraged to follow Kilo as the team of experts will be guiding people on how to eat healthily, live a better lifestyle and follow the daily regimen of the participants.
Kilo will air every Saturday between 3 and 5pm on TVM, from 4 March. Kilo’s e-mail address is: [email protected]
