What you wrote in your editorial The Eurovision fuss” (TMID, 7 February) came to the fore during last Friday’s edition of Xarabank.

It is evident that we are giving too much importance to what is after all simply a music contest.

But it seems that the country stops to watch the local event in February and spend the following three months thinking of the Maltese participation in the Eurovision event.

It’s as if the future of the country depends on whether we do well or

otherwise. Let us all grow up.

There are far more important things that should take up television air-time.
