Opposition Leader Alfred Sant has been reported as saying that his party wants “smaller waste plants in carefully chosen areas” (TMID, 18 February).
What Dr Sant does not say is where these “carefully chosen” areas will be.
As he goes around the various localities where local council elections will take place on 11 March, it would be interesting to know whether these localities could, in the future, accommodate one of the plants envisaged by the MLP.
I do not think that the people who are greeting him so warmly during the
visits he is making will like it if this is the case.
