Both the television channels PBS and Education 22 will this year be producing a programme to cover the children’s carnival. This live programme will take place on Saturday between 9.30am and 11.30am from Freedom Square.

Miriam Christine has been selected to compere this bright and colourful competition. This very popular singer will meet with the dancers, the families and of course the children themselves. She will be assisted by Christine Haber who will also be interviewing the children.

Miriam Christine is especially pleased to be carrying out this role on Saturday. Through her work at Education 22, she is constantly working with children and creating programmes which are suitable for a young audience. She also has a personal interest in the event.

“As a kid, carnival was always a very special time for me with annual visits to Victoria in Gozo with my family. I was lucky to have some really amazing costumes and from childhood, I have always thoroughly enjoyed dressing up! The singing, colour and dance always had me enthralled!”

Saturday’s programme promises to offer a brilliant spectacle, what with the actual Carnival competition and the various guest performers who are scheduled to take part in the event.
