As liaison and coordinator with the Sofia Philharmonic during their visit to Malta for last Saturday’s concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, marking the Union Haddiema Maghqudin’s 40th anniversary concert, I would like to thank the UHM and Alan Chircop for presenting the best set-up and perfect organisation for the National Symphony Orchestra of Bulgaria.
The managers and musicians of the orchestra are very grateful for the great detail in which Alan Chircop and the UHM have gone into.
Air Malta and their Sofia representative office have been extraordinary in the handling of the bulky instruments and perfect flights.
Our stay at the Dolmen Hotel was a perfect demonstration of Maltese hospitality, while we were so grateful to have been taken on a tour to Mdina to discover some of the great attractions of your special island.
The staff of the hall were very cooperative and the orchestra really enjoyed playing to a full house under the excellent direction of Alan Chircop.
I had met this young talented conductor at one of his concerts in Skopje with the Macedonian National Philharmonic in 2003.
During these three years, every orchestra or venue where I have represented him has always shown great interest in his professional artistic capabilities. Through his successful concerts he always managed to be re-invited wherever he has performed.
Thank you to the public, who was splendid, and to all those who contributed towards this big success. We will reciprocate your hospitality through the promotion we will give Malta in reports on TV stations and newspapers in Bulgaria, which will be reporting this highly successful visit of our National Philharmonic.
