It is a real shame that each and every year Carnival float builders have to suffer the same consequences.
Each year they are promised that shelters will be built for them to keep their floats safe as they prepare for Carnival. And yet each year nothing much is done.
This year, one float was destroyed and others were damaged because of the strong winds and heavy rain that occurred on Thursday night.
Carnival float builders make a lot of sacrifices to entertain people during Carnival and should be treated better. Many fork out hundreds of liri from their own pockets and it is sad when their efforts are in vain.
I believe that they should be given more assistance in this regard. They need to have shelters where they place their floats once they are assembled.
