Dr David Farrugia MD FRCP PhD, a Consultant Medical Oncologist based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire UK received his UK private pilot licence in May 2005. Dr Farrugia underwent his training with the Cotswold Aero Club based at Gloucestershire airport. He was also awarded the club's Rex Walwin Challenge Trophy for the best student pilot. He is pictured here receiving his award from Polly Vacher, a world renowned aviatrix who has circumnavigated the globe in a single engine piston aircraft, at the club annual presentation dinner. This was a fancy dress event celebrating flying in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Dr Farrugia is married to Josette nee Sharples and has two daughters Jessica and Hannah.
