A Siggiewi man was sentenced to a two-year prison term suspended for four after he pleaded guilty to defiling a 16-year-old girl last Monday.
The 45-year-old man admitted defiling the girl and offending public morals in St Julian’s on 6 March 2006 at about 11.30am.
In addition to the suspended jail term, presiding magistrate Anthony Vella ordered the man to be under the supervision of a probation officer.
Inspectors Louise Calleja and Sharon Tanti prosecuted while Dr Peter Fenech appeared for Mr Portelli.
