The Chance to choose

Much has been said about the fact that the most popular sports transmissions are being blocked and to see them, now we have to pay. I am not going into this matter.

What I find mostly unfair is that all sports are being sold in one package. If I am only a Formula 1 fan, why should I pay Lm25 for the Sports Ticket for five months and from then on Lm7.50 monthly to watch Formula 1 races?

Why should I be forced to buy the sports channels that transmit Champions League, World Cup, tennis, English football, the Six Nations Rugby Competition and all the other sports when all I am interested in is Formula 1?

If you go to a restaurant for a pizza and the waiter tells you: “Look to have a pizza you must also pay for spaghetti, chicken, and a fillet. Then, if you don’t like the spaghetti, the chicken and the fillet, throw them away and eat the pizza you wanted!!” Is this fair? This is what is happening here.

At least, Melita should give customers the possibility to buy only the product they want; they should offer “single-sport packages,” where a customer can pay only for the sports he/she wants to follow and not have to pay for the whole lot and throw away what they don’t want to watch.
