Headmistress Verbally abused

Malta Independent Tuesday, 14 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The headmistress of the Kalkara Primary School was verbally assaulted by a student’s parents yesterday.

The case was reported to the police at the Cospicua Police Station and the parents are expected to be arraigned in court today.

Sources told The Malta Independent that the headmistress had followed health procedures which the student’s parents took exception to.

This is the first case of abuse on a teacher after the Malta Union of Teachers organised a meeting to discuss abuse on teachers and unruly student behaviour.
