Qui-si-sana Parking

Malta Independent Thursday, 23 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

For the last few years I have been spending the winter months in a rented apartment in Qui-si-Sana.

A group of us, on similar long stays in the area, have been discussing the car park project and respectfully beg to make the following suggestions through your media.

We do not object to the car park, Malta needs them desperately anywhere, especially underground.

However we refuse to share our limited parking spaces with visitors as proposed in the R.P.Z. It stands to reason that drivers will prefer to use our spaces than pay in the car park.

This will turn our streets into a very busy free car park and furthermore the owners of ground floor properties and lock up garages will rent them out for commercial use. It is for this reason that the developer demands commercial activity.

Visitors to the area should be forced into the car park and then only the coffee shop in the garden should be required to boost the car park operator’s takings.
