Lenten Sermons

Malta Independent Thursday, 30 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Between 3 and 7 April, Fr Elija Vella will be addressing some of the most fundamental questions asked by youths and other questions that they may have never dreamt of asking during lenten sermons organised by Youth Fellowship.

The coordinator of this year’s Lenten sermons, Desmond Sant, said these talks are meant to help youths discover a deeper understanding of life’s most important issues, among which whether or not God exists, why He does not show up, why does God allow suffering and why does God never answer my prayers, for example. The answers to the these and other questions will feature in a highly interactive programme which will include video clips, real-life testimonies, a mime, contemporary worship music, moments of prayer and a concluding Mass on Friday.

The interactive nature of this year’s Ezercizzi will also include the option for youths to submit their own questions and post comments. This may be done through a dedicated mini-website, linked via Youth Fellowship’s webpage. www.yfellowship.org

The talks will be held at Gattard House in Blata l-Bajda at 7.30pm.
