In this time of reflection prior to the Holy Week, the Malta Labour Party Club Msida will once more take the initiative, together with a number of Msida associations including the Nationalist Party, to show solidarity and collect funds in aid of Daniel Delicata Foundation and Amanda Attard.
Half of the funds raised are to be utilised to buy Playstations for the Disneyland Ward in St Luke’s Hospital. The remaining half of the money collected will go in aid of Amanda Attard, an eight-year-old who suffers from a rare condition. During this year, Amanda will undergo two operations which will cost about Lm25,000. These operations will enable Amanda to smile and allow her to communicate better.
A major feature of this initiative will be the Good Friday exhibition which will be open from Thursday 6 April to Saturday 15 April. The sense of solidarity is reflected to an extent that various individuals leave behind political beliefs to participate wholeheartedly in the setting up of this exhibition. This year’s exhibition will feature a good number of new exhibits including an excellent bottle exhibition reminiscent the last days of our Lord. Anyone who visits this exhibition can voluntarily donate money in aid of the Daniel Delicata Foundation and Amanda Attard as well as fill in a donor form of the Transplant Support Group. No entry fee will be charged.
The focal point of this initiative will be a Walk of Hope and Solidarity, which will take place on Monday 10 April at 6pm. Our meeting point will be Mamma Mia Restaurant. From there the, united Msida associations and clubs will follow the Holy Cross and proceed to the Msida parish church, where the parish priest will concelebrate a special Holy Mass for the occasion. We would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone, especially the Misidjani, to join us in this solidarity walk. At the end of the Mass, the Msida associations and individuals are invited to donate money for this worthy cause.
The success and satisfaction achieved last year was great. This result spurred us to work harder in order to improve the quality of life of angels who are recovering in our state hospitals as well as help Amanda Attard to smile and to look forward for a better life.
We have a dream. With your donation, we can make it come true.
