A 38-year-old man has been arrested after police investigations led to the discovery of items which are believed to have been stolen.

The items, which include around 40 paintings, information technology equipment, a sawn-off shotgun and a pistol, among other things, were found in a garage in Msida.

The police said the paintings had been stolen from a house in St Paul’s Bay last January.

The man is expected to be charged in court this morning.
