Milan Channel was blocked by Melita Cable last Saturday at 11.30pm, one hour after the match between Milan and Fiorentina finished.

It was kept blocked right through Sunday, and came back on early on Monday, although I must admit that I do not know the exact time.

What is sure is that the channel was blocked for at least 24 hours, and Melita says it does so not to infringe on television rights considering that it does not have the rights to show Serie A games.

This has been happening all throughout the season. While I understand that Melita cannot re-transmit the game until a certain time has elapsed, I cannot understand why the whole station is blocked for more than a day.

I downloaded the Milan Channel programming for Sunday 26 March from the AC Milan website and, after its first retransmission of the game at midnight, the match was shown again at 10am, at 1.30pm and at 11pm.

This means that the station was blocked for at least 24 hours when the match was on air for a total of eight hours. Milan Channel followers were therefore deprived of this station of another 14 hours of programming.

Melita say that the station is blocked for so long because it would be a logistical problem to switch it on and off. I did not know it was so complicated to turn a switch on and off.
