The opposition believes that the pension reform need not be tackled now because the problem is only likely to be felt in 20 years’ time.... No further comments on this!

However, the government is obviously saying the opposite: that we have to address this issue now before any further delay. Well, we should be really “proud” to have a very smart government who is making propaganda everywhere, pretending to be addressing the pension reform with a certain degree of urgency, when in actual fact all it did is dump it on us youths!

According to what the Pension’s Working Group recommended regarding the extremely, gradual increase in retirement age, it will take us 20 years, ie. four legislative terms, to see the first “victim” of this unjust reform to “graduate” from his/her work place with “65 honours”.

Is there any place in the whole world where the authorities propose such discriminatory measures against youths, and then only days later, have the courage and guts to attend the Youth Day celebrations to show them their support?

Is there any place in the world where the Pension Reform is spanning 20 years in order to be fully implemented, and if such a country surprisingly exists, is it in the same urgent crisis as in Malta to implement this change?

Come on youths, wake up.
