Father And son exhibition in Mosta

Malta Independent Wednesday, 5 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

An exhibition of paintings and drawings by the late famous playwright Francis Ebejer and his son Damian, is being held at the Gallery Last Touch, Main Street, Mosta. The idea of this joint exhibition, displaying both father and son’s works side by side, came from Damian himself after he realised there was continued interest in Francis Ebejer’s art. Francis Ebejer had last displayed his paintings and drawings in January 1991, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta.

In this current exhibit, there are 18 works by Francis and 11 by Damian. The public is invited to take this opportunity to view Francis’s approach to the visual arts; paintings that in the words of artist/sculptor Anton Agius during the inauguration “are witnesses to Ebejer’s genius”.

Damian Ebejer’s works in this exhibition are a breakthrough in his artistic journey which began in 1994. Besides Damian’s contemporary paintings one will be able to enjoy a photographic display of his works in the Baroque vein that he has painted over the years in various palazzos and private residences around Malta. The exhibition is open daily including Saturday and Sunday, and will close on 12 April.

Private viewings can be held on Saturday and Sunday evenings by contacting either Damian Ebejer on 9980 1721 or David Xuereb (curator) on 9944 9546
