I refer to the article entitled “Intellectual property rights” by Minister Censu Galea (TMID, 27 March). As a musical composer and author I found it very disappointing as there was no mention of who would be administrating the performance, copyright and neighbouring rights of musical authors and composers within Maltese territory, as per Section 53 of Cap. 415 in the Laws of Malta.

The question I would like to reply to is – do we have a collecting society to protect such rights?
